Path to the Light by EmMelody Path to the Light by EmMelody
Out in the cold again today to snap a photo for this month's theme assignment (The Forest with Leading Lines) at :iconphotographyguide: - it was quite difficult to capture a nice shot as there were very few leaves on the trees and it was quite dark :)

Taken with a FujiFilm FinePix HS20 EXR in quite low light :) (Smile)

Please don't use this without my permission... Thanks!

I'm always looking to improve my works, so please leave suggestions or tips on how I could improve! I would really appreciate it! :) (Smile)

Please check out my other photography:… :) (Smile)

Hey there! Thank you for submitting to :iconphotographyguide: for our monthly theme assignment!

Your picture fits the theme perfectly. The "path" into the picture and the trees are gorgeous leading lines here. Great! Heart
I love how you captured it, and in my opinion it does not really is important here that the trees have leaves. The ones on the ground shine very bright in the light and this creates the most important scenery for me here.
Since you also submitted for feedback, here is just one thing: I am not really sure, but when i take a look it seems like the picture is crooked (just really small!). Maybe it's the picture itself, maybe its the trees creating this feeling (which i think of first).
But i don't think this is something you can change, maybe just experiment but this would be all i have to add here.
Keep it up like that, i love it
Good luck with the assignment! Writing emoticon

Thank you very much for the feedback!! Yes, I was looking at that tree on the left because it isn't completely symmetrical, but all the trees there were slightly crooked - as you suggest, I could try rotating it slightly to see if it would look any better! Thank you again!! :)

This is a wonderful photograph. I went through your gallery after seeing your forum topic. There were a few I very much liked, such as this one or "Woods of Grey". Some of the other photos however, the closeups with plants and bugs seemed closed in and claustrophobic to me. These photos I said I liked tell a sort of tale. That is what makes it art. Seeing a flower or a bug from a close perspective isn't original and it can be seen everywhere. I'm no photographer but my amateur suggestion is that instead of showing one element, combine them in order to tell a story that will infatuate the observer.
:D Still I enjoyed the nature on your photos.

Wow, thank you for the incredibly long feedback! It's very interesting to interpret other people's views and preferences regarding photography - when I took those close-up shots I was very interested in macro photography and viewing the insects from a perspective that is not often seen by the naked eye (after looking at photos of flies and their eyes close up). I will definitely take on board your feedback - I do agree that they would definitely look better if there was more of a 'setting' as such. I still have a lot to learn! Thanks again! :)
